Join us on an awe-inspiring 2D1N Ijen Crater Blue Fire tour from Bali, and experience one of the most rare and surreal natural phenomena on Earth — the blue fire of Mount Ijen in East Java. This is not just a trekking adventure, but a journey that combines volcano exploration, night hiking, sunrise scenery, and local culture, all in one immersive experience.
Located in East Java, Mount Ijen (Gunung Ijen) is famous for its electric blue flames that can only be seen in the darkness of night, as well as its stunning turquoise acidic crater lake, the largest of its kind in the world.
Day 1: Bali – Gilimanuk – Ferry to Java – Hotel
- Pick-up from your hotel in South Bali, Ubud, or North Bali (around 11:00 AM)
- Comfortable air-conditioned drive to Gilimanuk Port (approx. 4–5 hours)
- Stop along the way for lunch or local snacks (own expense)
- Ferry crossing to Ketapang Port, East Java (approx. 1 hour)
- Transfer to local hotel in Banyuwangi for rest & dinner (simple accommodation with A/C, private bathroom)
- Early rest, as night trek begins around midnight
Day 2: Midnight Trek – Ijen Blue Fire – Sunrise – Bali Return
00:00 AM: Wake-up call & transfer to Paltuding base camp
01:00 AM: Begin the 3 km night hike (approx. 1.5–2 hours, moderate difficulty)
- Reach the crater rim, descend carefully to see the blue fire up close (safety gear provided)
- After witnessing the flames, ascend back to enjoy sunrise over the crater lake
- Time to explore the rim, take photos, and watch local miners carry sulfur blocks
- Descend back to Paltuding, light breakfast served
- Transfer back to the ferry, then return journey to Bali
- Drop off at your hotel in Bali in the evening (approx. 5:00–7:00 PM)
- Witness the rare Blue Fire phenomenon
- Explore Ijen Crater and its turquoise sulfur lake
- Observe traditional sulfur miners at work
- Catch sunrise from the crater rim
- Cross Bali Strait by ferry

- The night trek involves steep uphill walking and rocky terrain. It’s moderately challenging and not suitable for infants or people with health issues.
- The blue fire is a natural phenomenon and visibility may vary due to weather or volcanic gas conditions.
- Sulfur gas can be strong — masks are provided and must be worn inside the crater.
