Welcome to Tulamben, one of the most legendary and unique dive destinations in Bali and Southeast Asia. Nestled on the northeastern coast of Bali, Tulamben is famous for being home to the USAT Liberty Shipwreck — a world-renowned dive site that attracts divers from all over the globe.
Whether you are a certified diver, a first-time beginner, or an underwater photography lover, Tulamben diving trips offer something extraordinary — combining rich marine biodiversity, fascinating underwater history, and stunning volcanic landscapes.
The USAT Liberty was a United States Army cargo ship torpedoed by a Japanese submarine during World War II in 1942. It was beached on Tulamben’s coast for years until the 1963 eruption of Mount Agung pushed the massive ship into the sea. Today, it lies just 20–30 meters offshore, making it one of the most accessible shipwreck dives in the world — and a must-dive site in Bali.
The shipwreck is now fully encrusted with colorful corals, sea fans, and marine life, turning it into a living reef and underwater playground for divers.
Your day begins with a hotel pickup and transfer to our dive center in Tulamben, where you’ll meet your PADI-certified dive instructor or guide. After a briefing and equipment setup, you’ll walk a short distance to the shore — and just a few minutes later, you’re diving into history. You’ll enjoy 2–3 guided dives at some of Tulamben’s top sites, including:
- USAT Liberty Shipwreck The star of Tulamben. A 120-meter long wreck that lies between 5 to 30 meters deep, suitable for all diving levels. The wreck is a haven for coral growth and home to turtles, barracudas, bumphead parrotfish, and countless reef fish.
- Coral Garden Located just east of the wreck, this is a shallow reef with beautiful soft corals, anemone gardens, and great macro life. Ideal for beginner divers or for your second dive.
- Drop Off (Tulamben Wall) A stunning vertical reef wall that plunges from 5 meters to over 60 meters deep. Known for stronger currents, great visibility, and the chance to spot trevallies, reef sharks, and nudibranchs.
- Seraya Secrets (Macro Heaven)
A short drive from Tulamben center, this muck dive site is perfect for underwater photography and spotting rare critters like harlequin shrimp, seahorses, frogfish, and ghost pipefish.
